PLEASE, PLEase, please ... with heat index's above 100 degrees (114 expected in Iowa today) it is CRITICAL to make sure your dog(s) are safe. Make sure they have a cool place to relax and that they get LOTS of water during these hot days.

A good rule of thumb is: If you are suffering in the heat, SO ARE THEY!

Dont forget about the dogs in your neighborhood. Several ppl have outside dogs and there is no one home during the day. So take a minute to look in on these dogs, and dont forget to take a few bottles of water with you!!!

Good call. Down here in So Cal its starting to get really REALLY hot. I think I may start filling Junior's bath tub up with water so he can take a dip when he wants. It can't be easy being a chow in this weather!
