PostSubject: Good news!   Wed May 04, 2011 12:23 pm

So, I got a list of good news...

1. My dad, as you guys know had stage 4 lung cancer. The one lung was collapsed and the size of the cancer was size of a golf ball. Without the Chemo the doctors gave him a few weeks. Well after two rounds of Chemo, the doctor requested another X-ray. The cancer has SHRUNK down to smaller than a penny and his lung re-inflated. Another round of Chemo and he goes for a PET scan, where they will decide if they can cut it out or if another round of Chemo will be necessary.

2. Kurt has passed everything every test to be a police officer down in Baltimore. He did purpose...and I did say yes. It isn't an official engagement yet, not until I get a ring and he says it is official. He is waiting for Baltimore to say when he gets the job, and Star and I will be moving with him.

3. I finished my second semester of college. Most of you know last semester didn't count because they were still intro to college courses, they didn't go towards my degree at all. they were high-school courses. So I call my 2nd semester my first real college courses. Well I got an A in three courses(Modern History, Early History, and Sociology.) . The other two courses I haven't gotten final grade on. My history teacher e-mailed me saying I had the highest score in the class!!!

I am two courses away from having straight A's this semester, and keeping 4.0 GPA. I really hope so. Wish me Luck guys!

The downside, which my mom just told me, is that at some point in his life...it will come back. When it comes back....it will be very aggressive and it will probably kill him. The doctor told my mom that is how it has been for all lung cancer survivors. So hoping that it don't.

My dad died of cancer in July of 2000 and there was no remission in his case. It took less than 2 years for it to take him from us.

All I can tell you is to make the best of this time you now have with him.

I can only look back and say, "I wish we could have had more time to do ..." While you have the chance to someday say, " I'm glad we had the time to do ... "
