Went to help out at the animal shelter today...was 105 out! Started with grooming a Samoyed (although I suspect it was a husky mix) and a Husky...came out with fur all over my face and sweaty...very frustrating but it was cool playing with the dogs ^^

Then out of nowhere...the sky gets dark...temp drops like 20 degrees (litteraly). I knew it was going to thunder a bit, which it did but then freezing rain started to fall. All the volunteers and employees were outside with outstretched arms ...

I have a 2 year old female lab. She will be 3 in November. She is a inside dog because of past issues. She has always been pretty good but had her problems. I just got a male lab in April. He is also inside for time being till he is big enough to stay in back yard where I have a 4 year old male lab. My 2 year old female labs name is Alibi.
The shock collar uses a combination of both postive punishment and negative reinforcement (usually you can't have one without the other.lol.), and from the looks of things not too many people on dog forums like them. However this isn't always the case. What are your opinions regarding shock collars? Do you think they are ok to use in some situations?

lower-level conflicts -

Grade 1:

snarks are short-lived snaps with a snarl and light tooth-contact, or an air-snap with no teeth/growl, etc.

The examples they use in this articles really help understand a little more about reinforcing bad behaviors (what not to do) and being able to capture good ones. If your dog bites someone its natural that you as the owner would feel panicked because you don't know what to do or what might happen. Here are a few pointers on what are some good steps to take if something like this were ever to happen.

-Obviously stay calm, not only will it help your situation but your reaction and mood will definitely affect your dog.

-Crate your dog or put him/her in a confined area.

We all know aggression problems are things best left to experts, however in the case of forums is always good to try to help owners of aggressive dogs minimize the risk of someone getting bit (not so much solving the problem). Included in this is finding out what is the dog's aggression trigger. Meaning what is it that he/she reacts to.

Sometimes it could be only men, certain types of dogs, certain smells, etc. The following article explains a few of these common triggers:
