Have you guys ever seen stuff on TV relating to dogs that is supposed to be funny but makes you flinch? Was watching AFV a while ago and they had a video of a lady staring directly at her dog and the dog had its lips pulled up and it's tounge sticking out and was growling, the lady wrote it off as funny and kept doing what she was doing....and I'm like "NOOOO!"....I honestly thought the dog was going to bite her face.

You ever seen stuff like that and had a similar reaction?

Article says that a study found that 44 percent of dogs and 57 percent of cats are now overweight. The study looked at 669 dogs and 202 cats, and it goes to say that the % of overweight dogs and cats has increased 1% and 4% respectively.

Just finished another blog...lol when I get an idea to write something I usually do so before I end up forgetting...so here's my latest article.

I decided to talk a little bit about two differently structered walks. One, which I labeled as the "dog walk", is where you take your dog out and let them sniff, run, and explore as much as they like. Very mentally and stimulating activity. The other, "owner's ...

Okay, here's a little game that I remember playing once in the first forum I joined. Its called Gimme five and all you have to do is say to give you 5 of something dog related and the next person has to list 5 things of whatever you requested and then they have to ask the next person to list 5 things of one genre.

FOR EXAMPLE:

A: Gimme 5 dog breeds!

B. pug, chow, golden retriever, lab, and gsd.

    Gimme 5 dog sports.

A. etc....

Make sense?

Ok I'll go first.

We sat through a simulated thunderstorm Wed night in class. A dark room with fake lightning, the sounds of thunder and rain playing loudly on a CD. All of the dogs were fine with it within just a few minutes.

One thing I've noticed...Baloo is a little bit afraid of the dark when outside...not inside. I cut off all of the security ...

I took all of the dogs out for a ride tonight and when we were on our way home, I came up on a dog standing in the middle of a busy street in one of the "bad areas" of town. I've seen the dog chained out in front of a house many times, so knew where to take him. No one was home, so I had to clip that *^%$()$R# chain to his collar, out in the rain, no shelter, no food or water. The chain was wrapped around the stake and a bunch of sticks, which had left him about 5 inches to move. I ...

Just finished reading this interesting article ( http://dogstardaily.com/blogs/let-them-pull ) about letting your dog pull instead of trying so hard for loose leash walking.

...Well sorta. Heeling is still important to have on cue for instance when you are in a busy street or in the vets office but overall the author makes a good point in letting her dogs do what they like to do most: pull! Here she explains that she has her ACD pull a wagon when they go on walks.

It was in the 50's here, which seemed really warm after the wintry weather we had last month.

This morning I loaded all 3 of the dogs up and took them to the club in Lafayette. Lib ran the agility

There were a few other dogs there and Baloo was kind of pushy with one...a female BC. I kept him occupied

doing puppy push-ups (sit-down-stand-sit down-stand) which kept him out of trouble. Grizz-Bang was happy ...

Crush pill or pour out capsule contents.

Unless the pill’s package instructions or your vet specifically say not to, in most cases you can crush a solid pill into power form or pour out the contents of a capsule and mix the powder or granules with the dog’s food. b) how important is it to you that the trainer holds a recognised qualification and holds the correct insurances?

I'm sure you guys know that some dogs look different when they don't have certain things done with them when they are puppies, such as taping ears up, holding the tail down with a weight, holding ears down, etc.

I'm not talking about surgical things either, just taping or holding down. What do you guys think about that? Do you like it the way standards have it set or do you like the look of an all natural dog?
