How many here groom their own dog? Is your particular pooch low maintainance or high maintainance? What kind of things do you do when you groom your dog: brush? Bath? Clip Nails?

I "Use" To groom my dog but his coat got bad and full of dandruff. It was pretty bad, and one day during a pet parade some lady thought my dog was the cutest and she gave me a 30 dollar gift card to her grooming place. So after a few visits she got his fur fixed and seems like I wasn't bathing him the correct way and after that I been taking him to a groomer and so since then his fur has been really good and healthy. (knock on wood!)

Patchs' is low maintanence. A towel and a brush is about all I need to keep her clean. A quick bath once in a while and she's ready to go!!!

Neka needs a bit more work, she needs to be brushed out every few days and she sheds a bout more. I also have to dust mop several times a week to keep her hair from piling up in the corners. ROFL

I hear ya Michael, I have problems with Junior fur flying everywhere! Although I bet Neka's fur is a little heavier and falls easily, not with Junior, his is so light it usually flies around! Thank goodness he doesn't shed all too much anymore!

I also bath, dry, and brush my pooch. I dont' cut his nails because his walks do that, other than that he is a very clean dog Grin

I DO trim thier nail. Patchs' nails grow very very fast.

Neka gets a nail trim about ever two months.

we've trimmed his nails and give him baths ..but as for cutting hair... just a trim if he has matts ( which he hasnt had since he was a puppy) but i am not good with even my own hair , so i dont trust myself giving him a nice haircut..so yeah..we take him to a groomer to get him cut and glands expressed

props to you guys who groom your dogs! Smile

I groom my own dog although I really wonder why I bother. The first thing he does after a brush is jump into the pond and then roll in the sand.

Yes that is true, but must he get completely wet and roll in dirt or sand? He could at least stick to the grass!
Theres enough sand in his coat to make a castle by the time he is finished!
